Legislation that would create 100 new medical residency slots to serve high-need areas in the state continues to move through the necessary committees with support from legislators. This week the bill passed out of the Senate Finance, Ways, and Means Committee and the House Education Administration Committee. Senate Bill 298/ House Bill 443 seeks to address the state’s residency shortage, support in-state medical students, and increase healthcare access in rural areas.
