On Tuesday, March 29, the Lee Administration released its amendment to their 2022-2023 fiscal year proposed budget. The budget amendment adjusts the governor’s original proposal based on the State’s revenue trends. Along with most of the key UT investments the governor proposed at the beginning of the year, the budget amendment adds additional funds for UT priorities. The additional budget items include:

  • $2.9M recurring to support faculty recruitment and retention at the UT School of Veterinary Medicine.
  • $1M non-recurring to establish minority engineering scholarships at UT Knoxville and UT Chattanooga.

The University is grateful for these proposed investments, which will have a tremendous impact on students and employees. The amended budget now heads to the legislature for their consideration. The entire budget amendment can be viewed here.
